Decorating never ends in New Orleans. Right after the rush of Christmas, the Mardi Gras season begins on January 6. The Christmas decor is all packed away, and this past weekend the shades of purple, green, and gold started to grace the Acorn Cottage.
I changed up a few things including the front door. Last season, I scored the most fun ball garland from Hilltop Shoppe on Magazine Street. With an added crown from Old Estate in Thibodaux and Carnival flowers from Carnival Sculpture, the front door is ready to welcome the many guests of the Mardi Gras season.
Mardi Gras bunting and garlands add holiday spirit to the fence and gate. Numerous purple, green, and gold holiballs sit throughout the yard. And ball wreaths hang in the windows.
And do not forget my favorite jester. He's back!
I adore the busy Mardi gras season, and with the Mardi Gras season being so early, it is sure to get busy really quick.
The Facade, y'all!
Everything looks so festive.....I love all the colors!!!
