If you follow me on facebook or on instagram, you may have noticed that our school has moved to different locations around Lakeview. The middle school (6-8) has moved to a former Capital One Bank in the area.
Our former school received lots of wind-driven rain in most of the buildings during Hurricane Ida, so remediation is taking place at the school. I am told that should last a couple months. With construction, I would assume that time frame should be doubled. While that happens, we have been displaced to the "new" location. I miss my former science lab so much. Yes! I am making the most out of it for the moment. But do I really have a choice?
Teaching in a former bank is quite interesting. The noise levels of the different classes drives this structured educator nuts.
Pray for us!
The "new" normal, y'all!
Oh, dear! Sending along my best encouraging words! Hopefully all necessary repairs will be made quickly.
ReplyDeleteWow, this does sound challenging for you and the kids. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteEven though I live in California your classroom looks so familiar. It seems like everywhere there are new normals in schools.
ReplyDeleteHope your school year goes good for you and your students.
That has got to be difficult. So sorry for the kids and all the teachers who have to adapt to this change. Hope you return to your regular space soon!
ReplyDeleteHopefully the remediation won't take longer than expected. Good luck!!!!
