Thanks so much to all of you who reached out to check on J & I. We are doing just fine.
We left New Orleans at 11:30 am on Saturday morning and traveled to Orange Beach, AL. A drive that would normally 3-3 1/2 hours took 9 hours. Traffic was a nightmare. We finally arrived at our favorite Orange Beach restaurant, Fisher's Upstairs.
Afterwards, we checked into our home away from home, Fairfield Inn & Suites, and this is where we have been ever since. We plan on leaving here on Thursday to go back home to check on the inside of our home as well as clean up the yard. We will probbaly then head out to Atlanta for some more rest and relaxation (and of course AC).
A neighbor of ours was nice enough to take photos around our home on Monday morning. It looks like the Acorn Cottage fared well during the force of Ida.
I still cannot believe the cloth awning made it. WOW! |
Ida Update, y'all!
I am so happy to hear you are safe! It does appear that there is minimal damage to your property. That’s a blessing!
ReplyDeleteIs there any news on Camp Crisco? Prayers for all in Ida's path.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are safe and your beautiful home is still intact.
ReplyDeleteIt really is amazing how well your Acorn Cottage fared - grateful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update Ron. So glad you had no serious damage and are safe.. That awning is amazing. You should let the company know! Enjoy your R&R ya’ll !
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you're both ok!! Acorn Cottage just looks like you had a wild party! A little messy, but no apparent damage. That's great news! Thanks for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteRon, so happy to hear you are safe and thankfully your home received no damage from Ida. I am amazed things looked as well as they did from your pictures. Prayers to all the people of Louisiana who have lost homes and are suffering so badly in Ida's afermath.
ReplyDeleteYou & J are so fortunate! I cannot believe that that beautiful awning wasn't tossed around -- looks perfect. You are a lucky man.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that you and J are safe, and that your house escaped major damage. We just had the after-effects of Ida up here - an unprecedented amount of rain! We're fine in our immediate area, but there is flooding everywhere.
