Let the Good Times Roll {Mardi Gras Facade}

I adore the Mardi Gras season, so it's probably the reason why my last two homes were so close to the major Uptown Carnival parade route. The colors purple, green, and gold signify the spirit of the glorious season here in NOLA.

I spent a couple afternoons after work turning the Acorn Cottage into Mardi Gras Central.

I once again used the large gold face masks on the front porch, as well as the Carnival flowers by local artist, Brian Bush of Carnival Sculpture.

Large garlands and ribbons hang from the gas lamp, and metallic ball wreaths line the front windows.

It would also not be Mardi Gras without the purple, green, and gold buntings which hang from the wrought iron fence and gate.

With the addition of vibrant purple petunias to the pots, the Mardi Gras season is here upon us.
