Acorn Cottage {Custom Gate}

Jorge and Mario were back to the Acorn Cottage on Saturday to construct the custom gate for the side of the house. Ever since the privacy fence was installed in early summer, I wanted a custom gate to blend with the "new" front of the house. Jorge and Mario took my design thoughts and created a custom gate which blends perfectly into the yard. The addition of a medallion in the center gives the gate some character.

Mario will be back this week to give the gate a fresh coat of Benjamin Moore's Swiss coffee. It is covered in primer right now. The medallion will get a coat of aged copper paint to blend in with the copper of the awning, gas lamp fixture, and mailbox. A handle will also be added.

I am such a fan of custom additions which give the Acorn Cottage its own unique features.
