The Acorn Cottage {Before and After: Smaller Bath}

I am in love with the way the smaller bath turned out. Used by J mostly, this bath features his monogram (for those who were asking). I would never leave out a monogram. Black and white is also the color story in this bath. I simply adore its classic look.

The small bath in May 2018:

The small bath today, September 20:

Subway tiles again covers the walls along with black trim. My favorite part is the free-standing, no door shower enclosure. I have used the shower several times, and there is no water splashing into the bath. I also like how the vintage handles are on the wall to the right when entering the shower and the shower head is to the left. The niche also features the penny tile flooring. In the smaller bath, we decided to go with all white and use a darker grout color. I am happy with the look.

The vanity and cabinet were both replaced with wooden, black pieces. I too adore the sconces with their Edison bulbs and the bead trimmed mirror.

Smaller Bath, y'all!

  4. Good morning, Ron! I love the renovation of the smaller bathroom, too! I think it was a smart choice choosing all white subway tile and penny tile with the darker grout--it makes the bathroom look larger than it is and again is timeless and classy. I was going to ask in my comment on yesterday's post, "Where are J's monogram towel?" Ha! Have a grest day! xoxo

  5. Oh, man, I love reading these posts each day! This is so fantastic, and I love how you hid the handles out of sight. We did that in our bath reno too, and don't have a door on shower either. Love having less to clean!! Handsome!!

  9. Ron, I love your choices! Maybe because we used the same exact tile in our recent bathroom renovation. We even used the same small penny tile in the niches and shower floor. After seeing your darker grout I kind of wish we had gone a little darker as well. BTW...why didn't you keep that gorgeous shower chair in the before pics? HA!
