J and I closed on The Acorn Cottage on Friday. The tenant has until June 11 to move from the home. After that, there will be a complete overhaul of the property. The landscaping will change. You will be able to see the home. The burglar bars and blue siding will be removed. There will be character-adding embellishments to the facade such as a gaslight, a cupola, a copper awning, and a new floor to ceiling window. Here is a rendering of how the outside facade will appear after the changes:
Colors:
More will come as the renovations take place on the outside as well as the inside. I cannot wait for The Acorn Cottage to become our vision.
We looked for a one-story (check), a backyard to accommodate a pool (check), and off-street parking (nope), Two out of three ain't bad especially for the prime Uptown location which is one block closer to Napoleon Avenue and the Uptown parade route.
I hope you will follow along as I share the changes to The Acorn Cottage.
