Second Stop: Watercolor Inn & Resort
30A...Inspired by small-town beach life on a scenic highway that meanders along Florida’s gulf coast, 30A is not just a line on the map. It’s a lifestyle — that happy place we all dream of when we need a little time to unwind, unplug and celebrate life
After a stay at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear, J & I headed to the toney Watercolor Inn & Resort. I can honestly say that the Watercolor Inn and Resort will be a place we'll visit again and again. Located on 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, the Watercolor Inn and Resort is very close to other popular destinations such as Seaside, Alys Beach, and Rosemary Beach. Complimentary bikes and walking trails make it easy to get around the offers of 30A.
Upon checking in, J and I headed to our well-appointed room. The room was decorated in shades of the ocean. I especially loved the shower area with tiny windows which resembled an outdoor beach shower of vintage coastal areas. The view from the room was also amazing.
After a couple cocktails at the Beach Club Grill and Rita Bar overlooking the great pool, we loved the easy access to the beach and were greeted by a rainbow on our very first evening.
We headed out to Bud and Alley's in Seaside for dinner. The view from the upper, open air bar was amazing. Bud and Alley's is a Seaside staple, a long-standing, laid-back eatery on the beach.
J and I spent lots of time on the beach. The beach staff were quite friendly. There was a convenient bar set up on the boardwalk which made refills easy. We met many folks on the beach, all very friendly and personable. We enjoyed mingling with folks from Tupelo, MS, Houston and Dallas, TX.
The Gathering Spot at Watercolor Inn was an exceptional choice for sushi and cocktails. Enjoy innovative sandwiches and salads while relaxing in a laid back beach house setting. For an Asian-inspired change of pace, sample a variety of fresh sushi selections.
Back at the Watercolor Inn and Resort, J and I dined at the upscale Fish Out of Water restaurant, a Forbes Four Star-rated restaurant. The view, service, and food were all top-notch for a restaurant of this caliber.
If you have not experienced 30A, you need to add it to your next list of beach destinations. You will not be disappointed. J and I are already discussing returning during my October Fall break.
30A, y'all!
I am just gonna live vicariously through you this summer! All I'm gonna say about that ;-)
