Eating New Orleans {Kenton's, Easter Sunday}

The family came to New Orleans yesterday to dine in style for Easter brunch at Kenton's on Magazine Street.

Kenton's is a stylish restaurant/bar with an extensive bourbon list, upscale American & Southern cooking, and a raw bar.

Kenton’s is an American whiskey bar and restaurant with a menu of the smoked, grilled, and charred flavors that have an affinity for bourbon. The restaurant’s namesake is Simon Kenton, a founder of the town of Maysville, the Kentucky port town from which whiskey was first shipped out of state on flatboats. The primary downriver destination was New Orleans where the whiskey gained popularity and perhaps even acquired its name from Bourbon Street.

Kenton's is located at 5757 Magazine Street.

After our brunch, we visited Yogurtland in the neighborhood and opened gifts on Perrier.

My niece Lucy who received a digit spinner from the Easter bunny acting silly lost control of it and hit me in the face below the eye. I wish I had a better story, but I now sport a black eye. Thanks, Lucy!

Easter Brunch, y'all!

  2. That looks like a very nice restaurant. It's interesting the history behind things like whiskey and bourbon. So sorry you got hit by your niece's toy- I bet that was quite a shock! If you are like me the color will keep changing for a few days- perhaps getting even more colorful!

  4. Good morning, Ron! You sure have quite a shiner there! We had brunch at Kenton's not long after it opened. Neat place and creative drinks, but we just found the brunch menu okay. I don't even remember what I ordered! I'm glad that you enjoyed your day! Take care of that black eye! xoxo

  5. Does it make you feel better to know that when I was a kid my brother threw a remote at me and I got a black eye? I played it for all it was worth also!
