#tbt {Cheers! Purple, Green, and Gold Mardi Gras Punch}

On Thursdays, I like to throwback to my first year of blogging. This post continues to be one of my most viewed posts ever. The punch is always popular around our house during the Mardi Gras season.

Here is the original post:

The always popular parade punch inspired me to search out and tweak recipes for traditional purple, green, and gold libations.

I found several interesting recipes at www.cooks.com
I definitely tweaked each recipe to make it my own. The alcohol of choice for each is VODKA.
I used my newest Carnival must-haves, the large drink dispensers, purchased for $19.98 each at Sam’s. Score!!!

 Green Sweet Punch
4- 6 oz. can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
2- (6 oz.) cans frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
1- 2L lemon-lime soda
4 c. water
1.75 L Skyy Vodka
12 drops green food coloring
2- 2 liter bottles ginger ale
1 quart pineapple juice
Ice cubes
Combine all juices, ginger ale, vodka, and water. Add food coloring. Garnish with lime wedges or green grapes.

Purple Passion Punch

1 gallon grape juice
6 cans (12 oz.) grape soda
1 half gallon white grape juice
2- 2L ginger ale
1 (46 oz.) can pineapple juice
4 cups water
1.75L Skyy vodka

Combine juices. Garnish with purple grapes.

Go For the Gold Punch

1 gallon orange juice
1 (46 oz.) can pineapple juice
4-(6 oz.) cans frozen lemonade, thawed
4 cups water
2L ginger ale
1.75L Skyy vodka

Mix all. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

#tbt Cheers, y'all!

  4. Love it. The green and gold colors would work for when we host the BU Send Off Party. Minus the Vodka of course ;-)

  5. Good morning, Ron! I remember this post! You always do things right for any occasion or holiday! I bought one of those drink dispensers two years ago when my family hosted our annual Fauntleroy crawfish boil on Holy Saturday to hold my cocktail concoction. ;) Cheers! Have a great day! xoxo

  6. You are so creative! I really think that if you weren't a teacher, you could be a party planner. You love to socialize and know how to throw a great party! Maybe you could do that when you retire. Love those drinks.
