#tbt {Mardi Gras Home Tour 2012}

Back in 2012 when I started blogging not many of you were reading and following Uptown Acorn, so I thought it would be interesting to revisit some of my early posts. I think it is so interesting to take a look back at how I changed things, and Mardi Gras decorating is no exception.

Here is the original post from January 22, 2012 (almost 5 years ago):

Purple & Gold. Check! Black & Gold. Check! Purple, Green, & Gold. Check!!!

     Where else but in Southern Louisiana would the colors purple, green, and gold be considered fashionable, stylish, or "in season"? Well? At this time of year, we all bleed purple, green, and gold around these parts.
     Starting on January 6, the red and green decor comes down and is replaced by the trio of purple, green, and gold--- ribbons, plumes, jesters, bunting, lights, dishes....
     Living just a block off the traditional Uptown parade route, our home becomes a haven for a many Mardi Gras revelers.
     Sit back, sip your cafe au lait, and enjoy my home decorated in its purple, green, and gold splendor.

  1. Fun looking back. Noticed the "tenant" door. Do you and J have a tenant? It reminds me of my grandparents beautiful home in NY. They went in the back door and Harry the fireman the front. LOL
