Not only is there a right to vote in the Constitution, but it’s the single right that appears most often in the Constitution’s text – five times in all. In fact, four separate Amendments – the 15th, 19th, 24th, and 26th – even use the same powerful language to protect it: “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged . . . .” Of course, like every other constitutional right, the right to vote is subject to reasonable restrictions. Nevertheless, it’s just as much a constitutional right as any other embodied in our Constitution.
I certainly do not use this blog as a political platform, but I do encourage you to vote. It is your right!
One of these people will be our next President. I know that I will RESPECT the winner whoever he/she is.

DeleteMy kids are so excited about the election this year. They are 10 and 12 and have been following the political news and debates all along - although some of it should have been censored. Either way, they are both showing so much interest in how our political system works. I have a feeling we will all be up very late tomorrow night...

DeleteI voted early back in October. I usually follow politics closely. But, I have to admit that if the person I voted for doesn't win, then I'm not watching the inauguration/parade. That will be a first for me! I will be too crushed. I have no control over who wins but do feel very strongly towards each candidate.
