I was overjoyed when J was able to make a reservation at Ralph Lauren's newish, The Polo Bar. We were one of the first diners there as our reservation was at 5:00 PM. By the time we departed, the place was packed.
The view from the street is so Ralph. The plaid curtains and wood definitely are staples of his brand.
Handsome American restaurant by designer Ralph Lauren, serving classic dishes, bar bites & drinks.
The inside was pure joy. I know I could actually move in to that space tomorrow and be happy.
We started with a couple cocktails. At $22.00 a piece, the cocktails are not to be wasted.Cheers!
We started with the shrimp cocktail, and it was presented so beautifully.
I must have the plates.
I enjoyed the burger and fries for dinner. From the salt and pepper shakers to the vessel holding the ketchup, the attention to detail is so Ralph.
After dinner, the friendly staff snapped a few photographs of us, and we headed to the bar for another round.
I totally enjoyed my experience at The Polo Bar. I recommend it for all of my friends who visit NYC. I cannot say that I expected anything less that this attention to detail.
The Polo Bar, y'all!
Ron, I love your blog for many reasons but most of all, I love yours and J's zest for life. It really comes through on your posts. We have a RL Polo Bar here in Chicago too! Have you been? Put Chicago on your "to-do" list. Merry Christmas!

I agree that that restaurant is so "you"! That burger was huge too. I love seeing how they can make a burger and fries look so fancy! Ha! Glad to hear that it was everything you had hoped it would be.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous space. You had me at Hunter Green and Leather!
ReplyDeleteGood evening, Ron! I know you were in your glory in The Polo Bar! I hope you enjoyed those $22 martinis, but hey, when you are in NYC you can expect to drop that for a cocktail. We are leaving Fairhope tomorrow, but before we do, we are hitting up Green Gates--we saved it for last! Have a great evening! Cheers! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous place! I am so glad you took all here pictures. I love all that leather upholstering and the RL tartan accents. I hope you can get some of the dishes! You and Jeff look so handsome together- cheers!
