Thanks for Giving 2015 {The Parlor Mantle}

The parlor mantle changes seasonally. This November, I added four mercury glass pumpkins- two to the vintage scale and two atop stacks of books.

Two brass duck-footed frames make a statement on either end of the lower mantle.

Leaves in autumnal colors are grouped under pumpkins.

I also added mini lights in each of the larger mercury glass pumpkins for a pleasant nighttime glow.

The mantle is set for November.

  2. The addition of twinkly lights is always wonderful. I have a basket just outside my back door on the covered porch that holds fall leaves, acorn spray and small pumpkins. When I put little white lights in the bottom, it's like having a little fall-style glowing Christmas tree!

  5. Those Mercury glass pumpkins look pretty there Ron. I like how those two light up- I haven't seen that before. Those picture frames are really unique and look great with the pumpkins. You went silver and I went gold!

  7. Hi Ron, something we have in common is mercury glass. I LOVE it and have many pieces in our home. None of mine are antiques but many are real. I purchased them from Ballard years ago. Love the scale so pretty.
