My Summer Mantle by Melanie

Those of you who follow Uptown Acorn on instagram (@theuptownacorn) noticed that a guest "designer" recently visited and spruced up my lower mantle in the parlor. Here is the pic I shared.... {a work in progress}.

Melanie is one talented lady and shopped various areas in the house to set-up the perfect end-of-summer (BOO-WHOOOOO!) vignette.

I love how she even incorporated a 1920s box camera that I scored at Thea's Vintage on my recent visit to Portland in the Pearl District.

Here is her finished design:

Sources:

Apothecary Bottle: Timothy DeClue, Seattle
Urchin shells: Dunn & Sonnier, New Orleans
Camera: Thea's Vintage Living, Portland
Grilling oysters: Oysteria, New Orleans
Double pan scale: AKA Stella Gray, New Orleans

Thanks so much Melanie. I miss our decorating visits.

End-of-summer mantle, y'all!

  1. Great job, Melanie. It's fun to have someone else come in and change things up a bit. A friend of mine did that recently for me. New perspective!

The mantle looks gorgeous! It's amazing how a fresh eye can breathe new life into our existing accessories. You both have amazing talent and I always love seeing your latest updates!
