My Front Garden {Spring 2015}

After last week’s rain storms, the plants in the front garden are “smiling” this week.

I adore a green and white display, so I added white begonias to the garden bed this spring. Surrounded by foxtail ferns, Indian hawthorne, Aztec grass, and kettle leaves, the white begonias certainly pop and make a statement.

The hydrangeas are starting to bud also.

Over 50 caladium bulbs were planted in the rear of the garden behind the sugar kettle, but those have not yet sprouted. I’ll share more when that happens.

What is growing in your garden this spring? What is your fave annual?

How does your garden grow, y’all?

  1. Your garden is beautiful. You named some plants that I've never heard of before. I'm sure you can plant things in your zone that may not be available in mine. Rain definitely has a way of greening things up. We've had a lot of rain over the last week, but it has finally subsided.

  3. Good morning, Ron! Your front garden is indeed beautiful and lush as always--love how the white begonias pop out from all of the green plants. Can't wait to see the front garden in all of its splendor when the hydrangeas and caladiums are in full bloom! Have a great day! xoxo

  5. Things are really ahead of ours here. Our daffodils, tulips, dogwoods, and redbuds are gone, and the azaleas have begun their blooming. The hydrangea suffered during our below-freezing temps, and I'm not sure that it will completely recover.:-(

  11. I like it Ron- the white begonias already look great and will just keep getting better as the summer gets going. The foxtail ferns look awesome. Did the ones on the porch carry over from last year? 50 caladiums will be awesome! I'm dreaming about what I'm going to plant but it will be several weeks yet. Guess what- we got snow last night! Thank goodness it will melt today.
