French Quarter Festing and More

Besides our wonderful time at the Gala, J & I also entertained weekend guests from Atlanta and Sarasota at the annual French Quarter Festival. Springtime is the season for festivals here in NOLA.

The French Quarter Festival is the largest free festival in the country and is held in and around the historic French Quarter.

Our guests arrived on Friday and enjoyed some parlor patter. We then left for La Petite Grocery for a few bites and cocktails.

The Cofresi’s Inspiration was quite refreshing.

For dinner, we dined at Balise, Justin Devillier’s newest restaurant in the CBD. All loved it.

After dinner, we sipped cocktails at our neighborhood fave bar, The Bouligny Tavern.

On Saturday morning, we headed to the Quarter. We parked at J’s office and showed our guests around the station. Yes! They were quite entertained.

We then headed to Brennan’s for a delicious brunch. The restaurant recently opened after an extensive renovation. I was stunned at how beautiful it was inside.

We stopped at Tableau on Jackson Square for a beer and waiting for other friends to meet us at our spot near Andrew Jackson’s “back side”.

Sunday ended with a brunch at Superior Seafood. Frozen mimosas and bloody Mary’s along with New Orleans jazz added to the fun of the morning.

Our guests departed yesterday afternoon, and I took to the couch. Thanks to Michael for many of the weekend’s photos.

  4. Good morning, Ron! Just seeing this post. Looks like a great weekend--at least, it wasn't a total "washout" as the meteorologists predicted. I told Steve that in my "next life" I'm coming back as one. When he asked me why, I said because that is one job that you can consistently be wrong and not get fired! ;) Anyway, I'm glad that the weather held out for the most part for you out-of-town guests. You and J are indeed the "hosts of the most"! hope to see you soon and J soon! Have a great day! xoxo

  5. Looks like so much fun, Ron! My husband and I were just in New Orleans last month. It rained the entire time we were there but we never let it slow us down. :)
