These days I do not know if I am coming or going. Our Regional Science Olympiad tournament is Saturday, and it is the last minute, week of scramble dash……
My classroom is filled to the brim with:
Air Trajectory
Bottle Rockets
Wheeled Vehicles
Bridges
Simple Machines
and a whole lot more.
Are you envious yet???
Our students usually do well enough to qualify for State, but this year our team is rather young. We have lots of new 6th graders, so it is hard for me to gauge their knowledge.
Wish us well….
Science love, y’all!
Oh my. As a parent I dreaded the Science fair. LOL However, it was always fun seeing what the kids come up with. I will take your room over my daughter's right now however...hers smells like formaldehyde. Dissection anyone?????
ReplyDeleteGood luck this weekend Ron! My two youngest's just had their science fair and my son made it to County! He's so happy!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! Best of luck to your team!!
ReplyDeleteBrings back memories of when I used to teach in school, although since I am homeschooling my children, I still get to do the "crazy" science experiments. My oldest (now 6) absolutely loves science
ReplyDeleteMy son would love those bottle rockets! Lots of luck to you and the team! :)
ReplyDeleteBoy we had mixed results with these events. My hubby guided both kids along which resulted in them feeling a lot better about it. Looks like some very creative projects have entered your arena! Good luck with it all!
ReplyDeleteI hope you did well.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS! LOVE.. The kids are so lucky that you are their teacher. I had an AMAZING freshman science teacher in New Orleans ( all girls high school) who I credit today- I have a Biochem degree. She sparked interest in me in science and I never forgot it. Looks like you are doing the same for your kids.. Now, my kids are doing the science fair, science olympiad, (my oldest did simple machines!) and it is so fun! Thanks for sharing. Good luck to your kids..
