Carnival Sunday is always a fun-filled day of friends and neighbors and lots of drinks, food, and parades. The Sunday before Mardi Gras brings Uptown 4 parades the first of which starts at 11:00 AM and the last at 5:30 PM. Our day lasted until about 9:00 PM with the last of the Bacchus floats.
Carnival Sunday’s four parades are Okeanos, Mid-City, Thoth, and Bacchus.
For the first three, we gathered at the corner of Magazine and Cadiz Streets(our fave spot this year), and for Bacchus we moved to the corner of Napoleon Avenue and Perrier Street.
It was a great weather day, and a perfect day for the parades. The crowds were extremely thick along the route.
Thanks to BFFs Lori and Shannon who captured lots of the day’s activities in photos for moi.
I am now on the couch…………..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!
Carnival Sunday, y’all!
Such fun! And now, if we can just hold off the rain!
ReplyDeleteHappy Lundi Gras!
Happy Lundi Gras! Hoping you are recuperating nicely from this season's festivities. That Man's oldest (who lives on Cadiz one block down from Magazine btw) is a member of the Muffalotta's and I think after dancing in all the parades she's probably doing the same. Sending good thoughts tomorrow's weather is nicer than today's!
ReplyDeleteA good time was had by all! Love the pics!
ReplyDeletePhoto spread shows a fun time. Glad you all had perfect weather to enjoy the party and parades. Your table looked festive! Love the centerpiece with the dough bowl.

ReplyDeleteWhat awesome fun it's had! Great Mardi Gras time, I always wanted to go to NO for MG. Maybe some day. In the meantime I just did a tablescape to honor it.
