WOW! It is hard to believe that it is already December 15th. The time certainly goes by fast when you are having lots of fun, and this weekend was no exception.
Friday started off with an after-school faculty party at the home of our head of school. I then hurried home to get to an adult dinner with friends from my home town. We love to share stories and some holiday cheer at the holidays.
This year, we dined at Apolline. It is near the house and always warm and inviting. The food is always prepared beautifully and tastes so delicious.
Cheers to Apolline.
On Saturday, J & I headed out to the Preservation Resource Center’s Annual Garden District Holiday Home Tour. Though it was not my favorite this year, the houses were nice. I could only imagine living in some of that size. You are not allowed to snap photos inside the residences, so I snapped the facades of most.
We stopped by Commander’s Palace for a cocktail. It was such a glorious weather day that we sipped in the lush courtyard.
Cheers to Commander’s Palace.
We then beelined it to The Roosevelt Hotel which was again decorated to the nines. What gorgeous displays await you there. We could not miss the opportunity for a cocktail in the Sazerac Bar.
Cheers!
On Sunday, we took a long walk to the park stopping here and there along our Uptown route for some photos. You may recognize several of these homes from my past posts.
Have I told you how much I love the Christmas season?
Cheers to a great weekend, y’all!
Beautiful homes, Ron! Love the pictures of The Roosevelt. We usually come to New Orleans around Thanksgiving; and that is our hotel of choice. It is always so beautifully decorated for the holidays! Looks like you're having lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Ron! Well, it looks like you had a great weekend! The glorious weather was perfect for your weekend jaunts! Love Apolline! I need to get to The Roosevelt before the Christmas season is over--maybe next week, and hopefully, we can get together for some Christmas cheer! Have a great day! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAs usual, first class. We spent our first year of marriage in NOLA. It was like a year long honeymoon. We were able to see both as tourist and locals We come back every chance we get!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Sounds like a fabulous weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend all the way around, Ron. I love those home tours but you are right-some years are better than others. We were disappointed in the one here this year, too. Glad you spent time with some old friends. The Roosevelt is FANTASTIC!!!! Happy Monday, Ron- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteRon what a great week end. Those homes are impressive. Still do not hold a candle to your beautiful home. So happy you had so many wonderful times this week end with co workers and friends. Love the pics of you and J in the gardens. Happy New Week.

ReplyDeleteWow, love those buildings and mansions. Looks like so much fun. xo
ReplyDeleteAmazing architecture, Ron, and you enjoyed quite a festive week-end! The hotel is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat tour of such beautiful homes. Thanks for taking us on the tour. So glad that you all had a terrific weekend.

Wow you do live a charmed life! What a nice weekend you had with so much holiday beauty to take in! It always seems silly to me that these tours allow the masses to walk through the home but not take pictures. The exteriors are beautiful! Love the interior of the Roosevelt Hotel- how fabulous! Great shot of you and your friends on the stairs- one for the keeping!!
ReplyDeleteI always love your photos. I bet the home tour was fantastic!
