Salute to the Red, White, & Blue!

J & I returned from the beach and Fairhope on Sunday and could not wait to get unpacked and put out my red, white, and blue bunting and ribbons.

Five patriotic buntings were added to the balcony and upstairs trim.

The oyster shell wreath was simply donned with a bow in red, white, and blue stripe.

On each door, I placed the Uncle Sam-style hats painted by local artist Melissa Henry of Show Me the Door.

A metal flag which I’ve owned since 2004 rests in the front garden. The metal flag was purchased from Frontera which used to be off of Huff Road in the fab Westside of Atlanta.

I love to show my support of the red, white, and blue, and it shows in the facade of my home. She is all ready for Independence Day. Even the red and white caladiums add to the “holiday”.

How do you show your patriotic spirit?

  2. Looks great! We don't do much of anything here, but do decorate on Nantucket, where we always spend the 4th :)

  3. Love it! I especially love those Uncle Sam hats on the two front doors, and of course, the buntings are so "Main Street USA"! I used to go all out for the Fourth of July, but in the last few years, I haven't done anything, but I do wear red, white, and blue--I think that counts!!! ;) Have a great day! xoxo

  4. You have the perfect style house for hanging bunting. It looks so festive on your 2nd floor balcony. I usually put out little flags in my potted plants. We just got our front porch cleaned up yesterday so now I can jazz it up a bit.

  5. Beautiful!! I cannot wait for the house to be painted so I can add some fun patriotic decor this year. I need to find some of those buntings for our porches. Love the Uncle Sam hats as well. Is the main body of the oyster wreath a grapevine wreath? I have some oysters laying around and have thought about putting one together.
