Sniffle, sniffle. Cough, cough.

Have your sinuses been on overdrive lately?

My sinuses have been in full force. I wish I’d have some stock in Kleenex tissues.

Is this the culprit?

The oak tree is such a majestic one, but just look at my neighborhood this morning.

What Makes a Tree Pollen Allergy Worse?
  • Warm, windy days. Wind picks up dry pollen and sends it into the air. When it's cold or damp, pollen counts are usually lower.
  • Certain fruits and vegetables. If you have nasal allergies to certain trees, you have a higher risk of allergic symptoms from some fruits and vegetables. For instance, if you're allergic to birch trees, you may develop itchiness or swelling in your mouth or around your face after eating almonds, apples, carrots, celery, cherries, coriander, fennel, hazelnuts, kiwi, peaches, pears, or plums.
  • Having trigger trees in your yard. How close you live to a tree makes a big difference. A tree in your own yard could expose you to10 times as much pollen as a tree down the street.

Oh my! Look what’s getting ready to bloom---ligustrums.

Gotta run! I need a Kleenex.

  1. My son has tree allergies (birch is one of them) and he also has apple allergies related to it. Not a fun time of year for him! Hope you get some relief soon!

  2. Oh dear, Ron! Is this the "sneezing season" for you? I do not take any OTC meds to keep my sinus symptoms at bay. I hope you are able to find something that will relieve your symptoms.

  3. So sorry you're having such a difficult time! I'm allergic to most everything that grows outside and a few foods. I give myself shots 2x a week as well as an RX. Have you ever tried Neil-Med Sinus Rinse? Excellent product! You can buy it at most any store or drug store. Lots easier than using a neti pot.

  5. Hi Ron! Yes, my allergies are just going to town. My front yard looks just like that with all of those fuzzy wuzzies everywhere. Got 4 big old oaks trees. There spring green leaves are beautiful but we keep tracking in the fuzzy wuzzies! Feel better.
    Be a sweetie

  6. Ron, The weatherman just the other day said....even though we had a very cold winter it was a wet one and that has made more tree pollens. So you will have those sniffles for s while...I wish some relief with warm teas....maybe some lounging around :):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
