Who’s reading?
When I started this blog, I had no idea what to expect. I set out on a journey for what I imagined might be a year or so, but it continues today. I thank all of my followers and those who take the time out of their schedules to comment. I do my best to comment but life as a teacher is hectic.
Just the other day, I was contacted by the Marketing Director of a local company to see if I could put him in touch with someone in Fairhope who would sell his company’s products.
You see! He read my past blog post about his product of which I am a fan, and he read my other posts of my jaunts to Fairhope, AL. I can never imagine who is reading Uptown Acorn and for what reason.
Here is his email:
“I am the director of marketing and sales at Pelican Coast Clothing Company. Thank you for your kind words! I would love to have the opportunity to "supply" Fairhope with our ties. Someone with your knowledge can help guide me towards the right stores in Fairhope to sell to.
Since you last posted about Pelican Coast, we have made improvements and additions (new designs) to our tie line. On our new website (pelicancoastclothing.com), you will find that we are offering more than just ties, and soon, we will have a full clothing line available!
I would love to send you a tie.”
See! You never know who is reading.
I did give him my suggestions of places in Fairhope/Point Clear that I thought would best fit his product. I also put him in touch with Leslie Ann, my friend from Fairhope Supply Co.
I do love Pelican Coast Clothing Company ties and products. They are coastal and very Southern. They fit the Uptown Acorn’s style perfectly.
I am even told that Pelican Coast Clothing Company is opening a shop on Magazine Street this Spring. Wow! I cannot wait.
Yesterday, I received the complimentary tie that I chose. I chose the egret tie in red. It arrived in the perfect package complete with logo box and tissue. The handwritten note is the perfect Southern touch.
You know I’ll use the koozie at the beach this summer.
I just adore the many folks I “meet” on this little blog that I call Uptown Acorn.
Thanks again to Marty at A Stroll thru Life for featuring me yesterday in her series Pulling It All Together. I received many new visitors and nice comments and even a few new followers.

hey Ron, if you know Leslie Anne, you might be aware of the Southern Bloggers Jubilee? It was started by Kim Burdette, cozinest.com, and we met recently in Fairhope. We had a lot of fun meeting fellow Southern bloggers and discussing issues that we all have in common...I would love to meet you at our next event, April 22~ I hope you will come, contact me or Kim for more info~
