Jesters are a part of Mardi Gras like red beans are to rice. Historically, jesters were hired to entertain royalty.
The use of jesters as Mardi Gras decor is evident in many homes and shops at this time of year.
In my home, I have used jesters in many different ways throughout the years.
This year, there is a welcoming jester on the entrance table. He holds a feathery mask.
Another large jester is “holding court” on the central table in the stair parlor.
Check out how each were used last season: click HERE.
A smaller jester is used in a wreath in the courtyard, while a wooden one by Lorraine Gendron is on a wooden shelf sconce lining the stairway.
A glittery jester atop a platform finds himself “trapped” in a cloche in the parlor.

Jesters, y’all!
I love your jesters--They add just the right touch of Mardi Gras festivity to your home. The wreath in the courtyard is beautiful with its classy gaudiness. Have a great day! xoxo
ReplyDeleteJesters are like clowns - without the spooky factor!
ReplyDeleteFunny story, I once received a letter from a local official thanking me for my help with an event, and he said it was a nice "JESTER." . . . OMG!!!! I think it was his assistant that wrote the letter, but I almost died with laughter!!!!
What fun!! Reminds me of our crazy elves at Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteFun! Playful! Spirited! And they all axed for you.
ReplyDeleteTres jolie, mon fils.
ReplyDeleteLove all of them! They're so fun and festive and I've always loved Mardi Gras colors. I used to have a beautiful mask...have no clue what happened to it. *sad face*
ReplyDeleteAll of the decor is stunning! Did you make the wreath?
xo

Well, how much fun those jesters are! That is something I need to search for myself! You have some wonderful decorations, Ron!
ReplyDeleteThey are perfect for your Mardi Gras celebration.
ReplyDeleteYour jesters are a perfect way to welcome Mardi Gras guests. Love their costumes and fun expressions.
ReplyDeleteThose are so fun. I especially like the presentation of the one on the entry hall table. With the beads in hand he says it all!
ReplyDeleteThe jesters are amusing Ron. Love how you "trapped" one under the choche The wreath is so festive with the purple, gold and green and , of course, a jester to top it off. I have liked Party Express, your FB page and theirs.
