One thing I love about my mom is she always taught us to be proud of our age. If anyone knows how to grow older and still have a great time, Honey does. If you know my mom and her close friends (the Ya-Ya’s), you know the ladies of Mount Carmel’s Class of 1964 can still party with the best of them. At times, I can hardly keep up with them.
After spending a fun night at Upperline with friends, J & I trekked to my hometown of Thibodaux to celebrate Honey’s special day with the family.
As usual, we headed to a Thibodaux fave, Politz’s.
I am disappointed that I did not take many pictures.
After dinner, we convened at mom’s to sing Happy Birthday and cut her delicious Sucre’ cake. I thought it was delicious but was a bit too fancy for the kids. I should have known better. Oh well? I will do better next year. LOL! The cake was chocolate caramel Southern pecan praline with vanilla cake.
J & I are laying low tonight as we look forward to the Super Bowl Half-time extravaganza with Bruno Mars.
Happy, Happy Honey, y’all!
I hope your mother had a lovely birthday! And wasn't the Half-Time Show awesome!?!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your mom! Cake looks amazing. Best half time show ever!!! Such a class act. Commercials are hit or miss and sorry, but my Seahawks are kicking horses butt!

ReplyDeleteI know I would love Honey! :) Hoping she's had a wonderful birthday celebration. The cake is absolutely beautiful and totally decadent. Wish I had a piece right now.
When you have a minute, please stop by and see if you'd like to participate in an RAOK gesture for the month of Feb.
