After a long closure for renovations and due to numerous sanitation issues, Frankie and Johnny’s is open again in its same location on Arabella Street near Tchoupitoulas Street.
We finally made it to dinner there this week. Frankie and Johnny’s serves classic New Orleans fare. It is a great place to dine for lunch or dinner when friends are in town.
We started off with a couple appetizer selections for the table--- fried eggplant sticks and fried pepper rings.
The manager even brought us a new selection they may add to the menu--- beer-battered French fries. All were yummy!
I did not take a photo of everyone’s food, but I did snap a shot at my good ole stand-by, the hamburger. There is nothing better than a classic hamburger. As usual, it was delicious.
The restaurant has been renovated cleaned, and the staff is friendly. There were minor service issues but that’s to be expected on a waiter’s first night.
I am glad to have Frankie & Johnny’s back in the neighborhood. It is always a great go-to.
Frankie and Johnny’s, y’all!
I love neighborhood restaurants--they are so NOLA! Putting Frankie and Johnny's on my Pinterest restaurant board. I'm like you--can't beat a great hamburger. I sure hope they put the beer-battered fries on the menu. Have a great day! xoxo
