I love a good Bloody Mary to start the mornings on the weekend, at brunch, or on vacation.
A co-worker of mine, Andrew, gifted me with this original art work of a Bloody Mary and all its fixins. I pick him up for work daily, so the gift was the perfect thank you. Andrew teaches Pre K, and I love his wrapping skills too.
I could not wait to get it hung near the bar area of the kitchen.
How do you like your Bloody Mary?
My fave mix is by Zing Zang. I usually add some Worcestershire sauce as well as spicy beans and olives.
Here’s a common recipe (click HERE):
Ingredients:
- 3 ounces tomato juice
- 1 1/2 ounces vodka
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 1 dash of Worcestershire sauce
- Celery salt
- Ground pepper
- Hot pepper sauce to taste
- Horseradish to taste (optional)
- Celery stalk and/or pickle spear for garnish
- Lemon and/or lime wedge for garnish
Preparation:
- Build the liquid ingredients in a highball glass over ice cubes.
- Stir well.
- Add the seasonings to taste.
- Garnish with a lemon or lime and celery or pickle.
Cheers with my Bloody Mary, y’all!
Love Andrew's artwork, great personalized gift!
ReplyDeleteLove that!! My fave is zing zing too! I add horseradish and worchestershire too but no olives for this girl :-). Is it the weekend yet?!?
ReplyDeleteLove the artwork of the Bloody Mary--it is perfect by your bar and you. Steve is a Bloody Mary fanatic--it doesn''t matter what time of the day. I guess it's because he likes tomato juice. I only drink them in the morning. Zing Zang is a must for a great Bloody Mary, and he adds pickled okra, asparagus, beans, olives, and lemon juice and some other stuff. He makes a good one! Have a great day! xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy husband loves those - the spicier the better! I am more of a mimosa girl myself...I will keep this recipe for him though!
ReplyDeleteCheers! - Shelley
It has been many years since I've had a Bloody Mary, but my recipe is similar!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous gift! That is so "you". I haven't had a Bloody Mary in over 20 yrs! Can you believe it? It sounds good though.
ReplyDeleteYum yum! I think a piece of Bloody Mary art would make me want one ALL the time! Happy New Years!
ReplyDeleteThat's my husbands favorite drink. I've never made one from scratch- I buy a mix ready to go but this is probably better!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Ron!
Love the artwork and a good Bloody Mary! Zing Zang is my favorite, too. I add horseradish, Worcestershire, olives and a little olive juice, and my very favorite addition - pickled okra.....I may just have to go make one now ;). Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping for an Acorn mention- but an entire feature?! Well played, Mr. Dirty Martini!
ReplyDeleteOh and my two additions to these great recipes: crispy bacon and tiny buffalo mozzarella balls!
ReplyDeleteI love a good BM. Ok! That could be taken 2 ways. LOL
ReplyDeleteYummmm...a good Bloody Mary is great anytime! Must try Zing Zang mixer. Like an okra pickle mine! Artwork is good!
