When I collected the mail from the mailbox on Friday, I was so happy to receive the copy of Midwest Living that I won in The Polohouse giveaway.
I am sitting down with my cup of coffee this morning on this cool Sunday morning enjoying every page of the article.
I do not regularly receive this magazine because I live in the Deep South, but my connection to the area is great. My beloved J is from Seymour, Indiana and attended Indiana University. I may have to add the subscription to my list of monthly mags.
Alison’s home is definitely a Christmas home. Filled with beautiful fresh garlands, “Deck the Stalls” is the perfect title for the feature. “A converted Chicago-area polo stable canters into the holidays dressed with live greens, vintage trophies, equestrian paraphernalia, and a serious dose of plaid.”
I absolutely love the front entrance arrangement. Soooo creative!
I have always been a huge fan of Alison and her home. After seeing her feature in Midwest Living, I adore her even more. I am green with envy at her home, her equestrian collections, and her decorating style.
Alison says, “The house has a wonderful cedar aroma when you walk in, even after all this time.” Cedar is a favorite scent of mine. Maybe one day I’ll get the opportunity to visit The Polohouse to witness this for myself. Alison, are you listening? I am so ready to experience your home at the holidays. Get my cup of hot chocolate ready. I will be bringing the Cafe du Monde beignets.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great magazine. Picking up a copy here in n'east Wisconsin before we head south this week! Congrats on the win!!
ReplyDeleteGreat magazine..I don't think you have to be envious..Your house is gorgeous and tastefully done..(at least what I've seen of it)..
ReplyDeleteMy grocery store carries this magazine, so I'll have to look for it next time I go. Her home is beautiful. Glad that she got picked up to be featured in a magazine.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on winning the magazine. What a perfect way to start celebrating the holiday season.
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to pick this one up! Love everything I have seen so far. We are currently redecorating our Master Bedroom, and I am going with a bit of a lodge/cabin theme. Yes, quite different from the South where we live, but my hubby grew up in Northern Michigan. And, I am a sucker for paisley, plaid and comfort!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I see of Alison's home in the magazine and your prior blog of her Kentucky Derby soiree, she does have a flair for decorating. I hope she invites you to her home to see it in person--Alison, do you hear Ron and me?!! However, Ron, you need not be envious because your home is always beautifully decorated for whatever season. Have a a great day! xoxo
ReplyDeleteRon, I love Alison's blog and was so excited to see her home featured in the magazine! Her decor compliments holiday decor beautifully. I love her use of color and textiles. Lucky you for winning a copy!
ReplyDeleteRon, glad you won a copy of this magazine. I subscribed last year when Alison told us her home would be featured. You should put a subscription in Jay's Christmas stocking. It's a great magazine.
ReplyDeleteI want to experience Alison's gorgeous home in person too. If ever in Chicago……..S
