One of the things that I love about living in New Orleans is this time of year. Besides the change in weather, New Orleans residents go all out in dressing up their homes and yards with Halloween finery.
Today, I am sharing photos of the incredible decorations at a stately St. Charles mansion just a couple blocks from my home.
Huge, scary creatures and gargoyles greet visitors just beyond the front gate.
My favorite part is the number of jack o’lanterns hung from the majestic oak trees. The twinkling of the lights at night is spooktacular.
A mystical stagecoach is parked near the fence.
Pumpkins, mummies, and bales of hay complete other vignettes around the massive yard.
The home above is the same one I featured at Christmas with the gorgeous light display in the majestic oaks. Click HERE.
Another home J & I adore is just off St. Charles Avenue at State Street. Ghoulish ghosts and mummies fill the front porch. Classy!
Strolling Uptown Halloween, y’all!
WOW,. Ron! What a feast (ghoulish) for the eyes. That is some display. LOVE it- I imagine it is spooky and fun for little kids to see. Love the 2nd place, too. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThe one at State is always one of my favorites on our visits. Speaking of our visits, we need to get Sister cracking on figuring out a date :-)

ReplyDeleteThey went all out didn't they?! I can't get over the old carriage in front of that one house. I bet it's fun to walk down the streets on Halloween night with all of the great decorations and trick or treaters.
ReplyDeleteRon, We are planning a trip to New Orleans for my 50th birthday next month and was wondering if you could recommend any nice hotels around the shops and restaurants you like? Thank you ! ~ Sherri
ReplyDeleteWOW - how great! They really go all out for Halloween - love all the decorations. I have been to New Orleans twice and love every minute that I was there. Loved the garden district and all the plantations close by.
ReplyDeleteHave a spooktacular Halloween.
Mary
That is some kind of scariness gong on there! What fun!
ReplyDeleteThe last one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteOh wow how fun! That stagecoach is so cool- that's my favorite! The 2nd home with the mummies is so creepy but awesome!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love NOLA. We took the kids to Mardi Gras in 2012, and had the a great time. The St. Charles area was so kid friendly!
ReplyDeleteWhen my sister lived Uptown, we loved taking the street car and seeing all the decorations. During the holidays in the fall and winter, that area is really transformed. I remember your post from last Halloween of all the houses and their decorations. I sure miss her living there. Have a great day! Boo! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe had to leave town before Halloween night. I love the green light at night but did the big demon in front move or do anything? Wasn't sure if the boxes around him were for electronics or anything movable.
