I shared the late summer parlor mantle yesterday, so I thought it would be fitting to share with you some changes made on and in the parlor secretary.
The secretary is one of my favorite pieces of furniture in the parlor and is often updated with the seasons too.
As we await the Fall season and more changes abound, today I share the secretary.
The fold down desk features two of my favorite vintage brown apothecary bottles purchased a long time ago at Paris Market in Savannah, a fun read on the shotgun homes of New Orleans, an oyster shell curiosity by Oysteria, a photo of the nephews, two newel post finials on marble, and J’s favorite lamp from his grandmother Flossie.
The inside has not changed much since an earlier post, but I did move my coppered baby shoes and baby pic to the bottom shelf.
Atop the secretary, I placed my collection of vintage silvered trophies.
The secretary like the mantle is always fun to redesign from time to time.

Updated secretary, y’all!
I love that secretary--looks great, Ron! Looking forward to the Fall transformation! Have a great day! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove this piece...always fun to play around with it and update from time to time. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Ron...I just LOVE the way you accessorize!
ReplyDeleteRon, I'm so glad you showed your secretary. I've been trying to change mine, but have been bogged down in the inspiration dept. I like the way you styled the top with the loving cups. Thanks for the inspiration! It's neat that you have your baby shoes. My husband still has his in his office.

Ron, it is fab. FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that piece, too, Ron. My friend (the one that I am working on her house) has one that is almost identical. I think I am going to buy it from her when she sells and moves- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI'd love a secretary! I think they are one of the most interesting pieces one can add to a room. Still looking for the one for me. '-)
ReplyDeleteI like that you change it with the seasons. I'd probably do that too.
Looks great Ron. I like that map in the back of the secretary and how you've decorated it with treasured items. That shell on the book is nice touch!
