I can only imagine how exciting the Kentucky Derby is. I have never been to the Derby but have lived vicariously through the pictures of a party planned by Alison of The Polohouse last year. Last year, the derby pictures were one of my most favorite and popular posts.
I love these pictures- Ralph Lauren meets the Derby.
Alison has the flair for beautiful design and is as much a fan of the equestrian lifestyle as I am with the coast. Her attention to details are incredible.
I can only imagine that the derby is like our own Mardi Gras, lots of pomp and circumstance with lots of “liquid refreshment”.
Cheers to derby style!
Derby high style, y’all!
Being for Ohio, Derby Weekend was an event my parents and grandparens attended every year that I can remember growing up. I remember the 1st time I attend with my father! Great time! Love this post! And you are right, it is like Mardi Gras! A party throughout the WHOLE state and surrounding states!
ReplyDeleteHappy Derby Day!
(BTW I grew up on a street named...Derby Road!)
I remember this post from last year--love it! My sister-in-law Suzanne and her husband Neal went to the KD this weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteWow she really did a fabulous job on her Derby tribute! Those horse heads in the grass are the cutest! I missed the whole thing this year. We're finally warming up and we were outdoors a lot yesterday. It is a spectacular event and its fun to see all the fancy outfits and hats people wear.
ReplyDeleteI love when she did that Derby decor too! Love her blog! The boys and I had so much fun watching the Derby yesterday. One of these days I would love to actually go!

The idea of having party itself is a great activity. It’s nice to be acquainted with other people and have new friends in events like this. I have never tried participating in a Kentucky Derby. Ye I already heard about it, but I’m not certain about the excitement of being there at the area.
