Latest Obsession…Boxwood Spheres {& GiveAway}

I have become obsessed with preserved boxwood orbs (balls, spheres) lately. I see them everywhere from fou-fou shoppes to places like Steinmart & T.J. Maxx.

3

I picked up two boxwood orbs (10 in.) for my newest oyster shell finds (more later) for the parlor mantle at Orient Expressed on Magazine Street.

4

I think they fit and look great tucked in the containers on the mantle.

I then purchased a dozen smaller faux boxwood balls (3 in.) from the local Steinmart. At $2.99 each, these were a steal.

9

Recently, I purchased yet another from Abode (6 in.) on Veterans Blvd. in Metairie.

The smaller ones are upon the top parlor mantle.

5 6

Some are also on the wooden sconces going up the stairway wall.

7 8

While others are grouped in the cast iron urns in the kitchen windows.

I love how there preserved orbs continue to bring the outside in.

In honor of my newest obsession, Chic Chateau in Thibodaux has donated a potted preserved boxwood orb for an April GiveAway.

  7. Ron, I may have an obsession with these boxwood orbs myself. I bought 4 last fall, then added 6 more recently. I like the preserved ones. The ones I found are 3 different sizes: 4", 6", 8" . I used them in compotes as center pieces on tables for my garden club luncheon, and now I'm enjoying them around my home. I qualify on all three requests to be entered for the potted orb, but since I already have some would feel greedy to take part in this give away. '-) Thanks for sharing! ~ Sarah
