Scentsational Scoop… Sel de Mer {Presents 2013}

J knows I love a great candle, and he knows I love ones by Seda France. J also knows that I love anything to do with the sea, so his choice for yet another birthday gift was perfect. There are many candles out there on the market that claim they smell of the sea. This one delivers!

This time his gift to me was a Seda France candle in their newest scent, Sel de Mer (Translation: sea-salt). Just read its description…

“For centuries, artisan harvesters have hand-raked the marshes of France for the "sel de mer" left behind by ocean water to collect a coarse, flaky salt that accents both sweet and savory cuisine and is now prized around the world. Our Sel de Mer begins with light green marine notes and layers it with sea moss and the fresh perfumes of cyclamen and lavender, then finishes with touches of earthy wild sage and citrusy petitgrain – all capturing the ocean's most naturally pure product.”

Sel de Mer may be one of my favorite newest scents and is perfect for the upcoming months of summer.

I have enjoyed Seda France candles since my Atlanta days when J & I would purchase one once a month from Providence in Virginia-Highlands. The smells of Japanese Quince & French Tulip wafting from the shop doors was immediately intoxicating. The Japanese Quince candle was even our signature candle used for our 40th birthday celebration. I love Seda France.

Check out my previous Seda France post:

Why are Seda France candles so great?

“Our generous 10-ounce hand-poured candle has a 60+ hour burn time and is available in a variety of fragrances. This is the original, signature Seda France candle.

  • Approximate burn time: 60+ Hours
  • Signature packaging, needs no gift wrapping”

The smells of the sea…Can it get any better?

(The silver coral holder does not accompany the Sel de Mer candle.)

Thanks for the shout out at fashionably ate. I am happy that you and your family enjoyed Apolline.

Sel de Mer, y’all!

    1. Katie- I purchased it 2 years ago at One Fish, Two Fish in Savannah. It originally housed a candle by India Hicks. Looks like it is discontinued but you might find one on ebay:
