It’s beginning to look like… March {St. Patrick’s 2013}

It is hard to believe that March is already here. The month of March roared in on Friday with lower than normal temperatures and brisk winds. With March upon us and the frivolity of Mardi Gras gone, it’s that time of year to take out the shamrocks and decorate the front doors and facade.

The oyster wreath is once again transformed with shamrock ribbon, glittered shamrocks, and metallic garlands. The transformation is always seasonal, Southern fun.

On each of the front doors is a shamrock made by Seasonal Screenings (by Peri Woltjer). I purchased the whimsical shamrocks a couple years ago at Orient Expressed on Magazine Street.

Yes! The door decorations are actual screens painted in greens and whites.

I love a seasonal, festive welcome.

Have you decorated for March 17th yet?

  2. Love those shamrocks on the doors--so unique! The oyster wreath is also so festive. I guess it will be transformed into a Spring wreath after St. Patricks Day. :) Five more days until our special day! Have a great Monday! :)

    Your wreath is a perfect example of doing holidays with a New Orleans twist.
