Ever since Napoleon Avenue has been under construction, my route home changed somewhat. Instead of taking Napoleon Avenue, I have been cutting through Broadmoor (Vendome to Nashville) and taking S. Galvez to Jefferson Avenue. I immediately fell in love with a charming charcoal gray cottage on South Galvez.
The cottage style of this home reminds me of my Atlanta home. I love the cottage style. Check out my former Atlanta home, Wisteria Hill.
This home came on the market recently, but J and I were never able to make it to an Open House. Bummer!
To my surprise, the home recently sold and was featured on a blog that I follow, Shaun Smith Home.
I have been to the shop of the same name on Magazine Street but not very familiar with Shaun Smith, the designer, since he was not in the shop both times I visited. The shop is stylish, modern yet traditional. It is a mixture of antiques and new pieces. I love the mix.
Lo and behold, the home was renovated and designed by Shaun Smith himself. Surprise! The home was his own home, and I must say a work of art. I love the soothing colors used throughout. I can certainly see why the home sold on its first day on the market.

ReplyDeleteOh that house is beautiful. I can't believe they painted the door and trim the same color as the walls in the bedroom.

Our next big project is on Vendome St. near this house and we will be sure to have you come see it before it hits the market! -Boo (loving employee of the fabulous Mr. Shaun Smith)
