You can certainly tell by my recipe posts that I like easy to prepare meals. Easy to prepare and delicious are my kind of “treats”.
One of the easiest recipes given to me by family friend, Frances Clements, many years ago is an easy to prepare brisket. And boy, is it delicious too!
What you’ll need:
Brisket (I usually purchase a 3 lb. brisket, but since it was just for J & I, I purchased a 1lb. brisket) --- Have the butcher trim most of the fat but keep a small amount of fat for flavor.
Pick-a-Pepper sauce
To prepare:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place the brisket in aluminum foil.
Cover the brisket entirely with one bottle of Pick-a-Pepper sauce.
Seal the aluminum foil completely and tightly around the brisket & place in a pan. A disposable aluminum pan is fine too.
Cut the oven temperature back to 250 degrees.
Place in the oven for 4-5 hours.
Note: I did fine the brisket was drier than normal. Since I altered the poundage of the brisket, I would probably cook for 3- 3.5 hours.
I served the brisket with corn casserole (click HERE for recipe).
What a yummy meal!
