Apolline {An Uptown Restaurant}

For J’s birthday meal, we dined at a newish Uptown restaurant, Apolline located on historic Magazine Street. The beauty of the location is that is only a few blocks from home.

Situated in a renovated double, the interior is warm and traditionally modern. Flowing drapes lining the front windows are the perfect shade of blue. Candles illuminated original brick posts all the way up to the ceiling. The atmosphere was also warm and inviting.

We were seated in the main dining area at a table for two near the front of the restaurant. Menus were dropped off promptly, and our cocktail order taken.

Cocktails.

Scotch and ginger ale for the birthday boy and a ketel one martini (I love the shape of the glass.) for me were our choice libations. Cheers to J and 45!!!

Appetizers.

We split the charbroiled oysters with garlic butter and shaved piave. Delicious!

J then had the crabmeat and goat cheese tart with cherry tomato gastrique and frisee lettuce, and I devoured the sweet potato & andouille soup.

  1. Looks divine--I'm gaining weight just looking at those pics! ;) It's on my Pinterest board which, by the way, is growing thanks to so many of your posts. :) Looks like it was a great birthday for J, who shares the same birthday with one of brothers. Have a great day! <3

  2. Oh my, does that look delicious! One of these days, I *must* get to New Orleans ... I'm only one state over, so it shouldn't be that difficult! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful city with us, and making us envious ;-) Happy 45th to the birthday boy too (and glad to hear the better health news!)
