I’m certain that if you are living on this planet we call Earth you already know that the Superbowl is this Sunday in the Big Easy. New Orleans is bustling at this time of year and with the impending Superbowl, the City is on steroids.
I love the this picture.
It is really exciting to see which stars are in town and witness the fervor that CBS has gone through to set up such glorious stages in and near Jackson Square. I adore how the stages use the ironwork that is similarly used throughout the Quarter. Keeping it NOLA! The stages are being used for a number of broadcasts by CBS.
I have been DVRing The Talk which is LIVE from Jackson Square each day this week. I enjoyed WWLs own Angela Hill on Tuesday. She is a true legend here in NOLA. Angela presented each of the hosts gifts we treasure so much at Mardi Gras--- Muses shoes, Barkus sceptor, Zulu coconut, kingcake earrings, crown.
I am also looking forward to Thursday’s LIVE show where Drew Brees will sit in as a co-host with the ladies.
The shows have been entertaining.
I have also been watching WWL’s Entertainment Show, New Orleans Tonight with WWL’s traffic girl, Sheba Turk, Meteorologist Laura Buchtel, and Tamica Lee (not sure who see is). They are live at 6:30 PM Central time nightly bringing local stories as well as Superbowl insights. It too is fun and entertaining.
I am not sure if J & I will get down there this weekend or not. I know parking will be a nightmare for sure. We have to hop on the streetcar.
If you are like me, I am not really rooting for any team in particular. I prefer to watch the halftime show. Beyonce will be stellar--- that I know! I definitely prefer the entertainment over the game.
This City is on fire. What other City could host a Superbowl smack dab in the middle of two weeks of Mardi Gras parades? Hmmmmm? Well, New Orleans can and will!
Will you be watching?
A SUPERbowl in NOLA, y’all!
I'll be watching for sure! The only thing that would make this SUPERbowl better is if our Saints were in it. :/ However, I know that NOLA will roll out the red carpet for this! Have a great day! :)
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your blog, I absolutely LOVE New Orleans and I have to be honest and tell you I've never even been! I just know from what I've seen and heard that it's an incredible place. I hope to visit sometime in the future, but for now I'll visit your blog and catch the vibe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following, Karen! You must visit New Orleans soon.
DeleteI bet you ARE looking forward to this weekend! You're lucky to be so close to all the action. You get inside info! I am looking forward to the game even though I'm bummed that the Atl Falcons didn't make it there. Arrgghh! I'm also looking foward to watching the funny commercials (even though the Dorito's commercial that was filmed here in Atlanta didn't win either with the goat). Arrgghh! LOL!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun in one place! Pace yourself!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot going on in your city. If the Packers had made it to the Superbowl all the guys in our family were headed down. Mardi Gras and the Superbowl at the same time? OMG!!!
ReplyDeleteI see Sharon Osbourne on the show, too. I like her a lot...and yes, that half time show will be amazing! I don't really care who wins- xo Diana
I adore New Orleans but wouldn't want to be there this weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy nephew just moved to New Orleans and he absolutely loves it already! Hope everyone down there has a fun, safe Super Bowl weekend! -- Jan
ReplyDeleteOur local independent theatre shows the Super Bowl every year...it's really fun! They serve wine & beer and a really nice restaurant next door delivers yummy food. I'll have to settle for that since I won't be able to make it to NOLA. Go San Francisco 49'ers!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo fun! Hubby is on his way down there right now-his first Super Bowl is sure to impress!
