Mardi Gras Chandelier {2013}

Oooooh, it’s Carnival time….. How I love that ditty!

I hope you are enjoying my Mardi Gras posts and decorations. Living so close to the Uptown parade route, we take Mardi Gras very seriously in these parts.

In the Stair Parlor, I love to adorn the chandelier in purple, green, and gold plumes. It reminds me of those great headdresses you might see at the extravagant tableaus. A little styrofoam and a piece of metallic garland to hide the mechanics makes this an easy project every year.

I also add a bit of spirit to the crown chandelier in the Parlor. Shiny, metallic garland adds a bit of sparkle to the regal chandelier.

  3. The stair parlor chandy looks fab. You should do a tutorial on how to plume it up!

  5. Hi Ron, I'm lovin' your decorations. New Orleans is so beautiful too! Maybe one of these days I'll make it to Mardi Gras. Thanks for your lovely blog.

  6. Love, love your Mardi Gras dec! Having lived there and being married (43 years) to a native, it's always a conflict...Valentines or Mardi Gras...hmmm. It seems like Mardi Gras wins when it's a little later but, I HAVE to have both. Your ideas are inspiring and make me long to live in near St. Charles again...soon.
