Let the Carnival Season Begin…

After two days of Debbie Downer, “Waaaaah, waaaaaah”-type posts, I am happy to report that the Carnival season has begun.

Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Yesterday was January 6th and marked Twelfth Night, the start of the Mardi Gras season which lasts until February 12 (Mardi Gras Day). Though I could not celebrate this day, it marks my most favorite season of the year.

I cannot wait to feel well enough to put up my favorite purple, green, and gold decorations around the house. You know I’ll be sharing the decor with you, room by room.

Bring on the….

Beads!

Doubloons!

Parades!

and of course,

King Cake (in moderation)!

Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. I definitely feel the “love”.

  12. Ron, So glad you're feeling better. Mardi Gras sounds like loads of fun, but the closest I've ever been to Mardi Gras is seeing a King cake at Publix. :) Does that count? Have fun and get well soon.

  13. So glad that you are on the mend, Ron. I know that just the thought of the Carnival season perks your spirits! I am so looking forward to your home being transformed from its lovely Christmas season decor to the gaudiness of Mardi Gras, yet in a chic and posh way on your part! I know a "little" flu and a fib won't keep you down for long. Rest up, my friend--the Carnival season is a very short one this year! <3
