Favorite Holiday Traditions {Christmas}

Like in any family or close circle of friends there are traditions passed and shared. Today, I am sharing My Family Traditions at It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year Link Up.

Tradition #1:
The dreaded family photo
I shared with you our annual tradition on Thanksgiving. After eating, our entire family assembles in Honey’s yard and takes shot after shot, pose after pose, and smile after smile. Honey speaks, we all listen! This tradition has been a favorite of hers for a long time.

Tradition #2:
Pulling names

For a while now, the adults in the family have been pulling names. I find it quite funny as we all have a $100.00 limit on a gift, and we all usually gift a $100 gift card to each other to their favorite store. This way all adults do not have to buy for everyone. Of course, the kiddos are still spoiled showered with gifts. Hmmmm? I wonder who has pulled my name this year.
Tradition #3:
Garden District Tour of Homes

Touring some of the Garden District’s most beautiful homes bedecked in the holiday spirit is one tradition I most look forward to each December. In fact, tomorrow J & I will lunch at Magazine Street Po-boys and then venture from each beautiful house to the next.

Tradition #4:
Caroling in Jackson Square

Sponsored by the Patio Planters, the Garden Club of the French Quarter, this annual event takes place in Jackson Square. Candles a-glow, carolers by the thousands pack the square for the annual sing-a-long often attended by the city’s dignitaries. J & I never miss this annual holiday song fest.
Tradition #5:
Miracle on Fulton Street

"Miracle on Fulton Street," a holiday attraction in the heart of downtown New Orleans, brings the magic and spirit of the holiday season alive for locals and visitors of all ages. The Fulton Street Mall is located between Poydras and Lafayette streets directly in front of the Harrah's Hotel.

Miracle on Fulton features nighttime snow on the hour, photos with Santa, and reindeer petting areas. Other activities fill the square.
My family attends Miracle on Fulton Street annually. The kids love it.
These are just a handful of the traditions in my family and circle of close friends. Now if only the weather can cooperate, and it can begin to feel like the holiday season.
