The kitchen certainly gets a lot of use at this time of year. From supper clubs to open houses, J & I open our home many times during the holiday season. The kitchen is always where our guests “hang out” (I guess it has something to do with the bar. LOL!)
Today’s tour features our kitchen.
The island features the vintage-style bottle drying rack that I use to hold my collection of dk clay oyster coffee mugs. Small appetizer plates and a berry tree sit atop the rack.
My favorite large tray with rope handles from Luckett’s is filled with a vintage scale, cookbooks, a antler-handled silver ice bucket, utensils, and a foil vintage Santa. I adore the framed photo of my nephew, Henri, baking cookies with his mom.
The oven even gets a tea towel, Merry Christmas, y’all.
On the cabinets, one finds a “Merry Christmas Y’all” hand painted ceramic plate and red glittery orbs that fill each cast iron urn. I like to change the contents of the urns seasonally.
Near the coffee pot is one of my favorite Santa’s holding his coffee and cookie. It looks as though he is ready for some good ole “coffee tawwwwk”.
Atop the cabinets, green garlands laced with glittered silver ball garland and red berries create the seasonal mood. Two demijohns are filled with conifer greens.
The Ballard Designs bulletin board holds our growing collection of 2012 Christmas greetings.
Look there! It’s Dixie Delights and family….Love the greeting, Amanda!
I hope you enjoyed the kitchen tour.

Hi Ron, They say great mind work together! I was just over here snooping around. I had already been in the kitchen, outside in the daylight and at twilight. Then I wondered over to Oysteria. I was headed to the parlor when my daughter from Illinois called. I just know I was meant to live in your house. May I could be your tenant.
ReplyDeleteI am loving your oyster plates over the cabinets and I love that black and white print of the fountain. It reminds me of Savannah. Then, NOLA reminds me of Savannah. Love them both.
I will leave comments on all the posts when I complete the tour.
I told my family they have to come home for Christmas next year. I so love to go all out decorating but I know I won't be able to do it for many more years.
Merry Christmas.
Love all the Christmas touches Ron! Your home looks beautiful all dressed for Christmas!
