One of my favorite things to do in small towns is to peruse the unique shops. Gotta support the local economy, right?
I was really impressed with the quantity and quality of the shoppes in Old Town Bay St. Louis. I will share with you my favorite and then share my “fun finds” in a later blog post.
Here are the shops that really impressed and inspired me.
Bay Breeze
Bay Breeze is chock full of coastal pieces for your home.
In the rear of the store are kayaks, paddles, and a plethora of other coastal water needs. Bike rentals are offered. There is also an array of outdoor living furniture, pots, and decor.
I snapped some photographs of my favorite things:
Gourmet Galley
Gourmet Galley has a wide selection of my favorite cookware, Le Creuset.
However, the cookware is not what impressed me the most. Look what caught my eyes as we walked by.
Oyster shell trees! You know these were calling my name. Did I purchase any/all? You’ll have to wait a day or two to find out.
Maggie May’s
Maggie May’s has a wonderful selection of local art by local artists. I really enjoyed the Jazz oils.
What a magnificent redfish!
Cheers! You know I like my martinis slightly dirty!
Social Chair
Social Chair is owned by none other than HGTV Design Star alum, Yuki Northington. Remember, Yuki?
She was the first designer on this past season to be sent home due to this room. You be the judge.
Do you remember her now? I was hoping she would have gotten farther being a Southern girl.
The shop is filled with an eclectic array of home accessories, furniture, and handmade jewelry.
I especially loved the selection of Halloween decor. I am getting into the spirit already.
Clay Creations (inside Gallery 220 at 220 Main Street )
Clay Creations features clay art by Jenise McCardell featuring many facades of iconic NOLA restaurants, schools, bars, and more. She even has some of our icons that “ain’t dere no more”.

There were many other antique and booth style shops along the way. Fun Finds!
Bay St. Louis is a must for anyone looking for unique accessories for your home.

Shopping through Bay St. Louis, y’all!
Great shops!!! It is so good to see how Bay St. Louis has come back so strong after Hurricane Katrina ravage that beautiful town. I saw first hand what she had done to BSL. I can't wait to see what "fun finds" you snatched up. My bets are on the oyster trees! I do remember Yuki's room on HGTV's Design Star--that was hideous! Have a great day! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun place to shop! I do remember Yuki! She was cute, her room not so much!
