Guest Post {Downstairs Home Tour with Uptown Acorn}

This post is perfect for a Saturday morning with a cup of coffee. Here is a recent “guest post” that was published by Dixie Delights of my downstairs home tour. It is time to get this post out of my “draft” folder.
Since the post, I have featured my powder room and my courtyard, so I added to the bottom of this post. I have also changed a couple pictures in the post. Enjoy again! Here is the guest post.
Hi, Dixie Delight fans,
I am elated to be asked to guest post on the exquisite and so well written blog, Dixie Delights. Today, I’d like to share some of my downstairs home tour with you. I hope you will pop over to Uptown Acorn and become a follower if you have not already. I am a lover of anything Southern and anything coastal, so I would call my style as Southern Coastal comfort.
Take a trip with me as I open my front door.
The Parlor
Welcome to the front parlor. The front parlor is where we meet after dinner for post dinner cocktails and conversation. The front parlor is a stylish mix of new and vintage finds. (And I’ve changed the first two photos below. I was tired of seeing the Easter bunny in front of the mantle and the carrot on the door.)

Stair Parlor {Foyer}
The Faux Foyer (at least that was the title back when) I since discovered(or been told) that this area is actually called a Stair Parlor. I stand corrected. One of my favorite pieces is central to this room, a vintage clock and draftsman table base converted into a table. I adore it.

Dining Room
The rear of the house is an open floor plan and contains the dining room, den, breakfast room, and kitchen. The dining area is useful for great dinners with friends and family. The best part of dining for me is not the cooking but the styling of my table.

The Den
The Den is where J & I spend most of our time watching TV and visiting with guests. The den is a comfortable mix of elegance and coastal touches. I am in love with the bird oil behind the sofa.

The Breakfast Room
When we are not seated and eating at the breakfast bar, J & I eat our meals at the breakfast table. I am also proud of the recent update and redo of my armoire turned dry bar (You can check that out here!).

The Kitchen
J & I are not big cooks as we like to grill outdoors, but the kitchen is large enough and has ample storage space. The space would be the first to totally renovate if money was no object.

  3. OMG, I am in love (with your house)! Your sofa (Chesterfield?) in the Parlor and those Coat of Arms prints are to die for...Ron you have done a fabulous job on your home. You better watch out for Ms. "DD" next time she visits, she might steal those oyster plates!

    Have a fabulous weekend!

  4. I N.E.V.E.R. tire of touring your home "virtually"! Every time I look at your posts, I notice different things and get great ideas. Can't wait to experience the tour in person. Have a great weekend! :)

  6. I love everything on the dining room sidetable with the striped lampshades and that fabulous gold framed bird. The coat of arms prints are beautifully arranged above the sofa too.
