Today, I am joining Kelly at Kelly’s Korner blog for her series Show Us Your Life- Show Us How You Display Pictures. I hope you will hop over to Kelly’s blog to see how others in blogland display art, pictures, and photos.
In my own home I take a symmetrical approach to organizing art and pictures. I am a firm believer that framed prints and art look much better when grouped together.
In the parlor, 8 framed crests sit atop the sofa. A large grouping of art like this makes a great statement piece.
In the breakfast room, framed menus from our local favorite Commander’s Palace are symmetrically hung and fill the entire back wall.
Along the staircase wall is a framed collection of New Orleans iconic drawings and artwork all framed in black wooden frames. I really like when groupings are framed in similar colored mats and frames.
In the master bedroom hangs a series of Audubon bird prints framed in stylish mirrored frames.
In a guest room (Honey’s {my mom}guest room) is a collection of oak leaf and acorn botanicals. The acorn is the French symbol of prosperity and has always been a fav of mine. Uptown Acorn, y’all!
Also in Honey’s guest room is a grouping of 4 framed botanicals- 2 on each side of the window seat.
In a guest bath are 4 framed photographs of New Orleans iconic fleur de lis art by BFF Shannon.
In another guest bedroom, The Nest, are 4 framed egg and bird prints.
Family photographs sit organized in silvery frames on end tables and shelves throughout the house.
We love displaying art & pictures, y’all!

I love ya, Roooon! Honestly, I don't think I have ever seen that guest bathroom. Next time I come over, I will have to take a tour. As always, your blog makes me smile and inspires me to go decorate and organize! Happy Olympics, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHope to see our Shaaaaaaaannnnnon soon!
DeleteLove they way you display your art and photographs! You are becoming my "Pinterest"--so many great ideas. Have a great weekend! I'm sure you will do a blog on the opening ceremonies for the Olympics tonight! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are too sweet. Opening ceremonies? Probably not! Lol
DeleteI agree- groupings are so much better. You have such great style. I die for your house! J'adore!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Linger a while.
DeleteI love all your groupings, Ron. I, too, am a proponent of symmetry. It makes me feel calmer when I see things "lined up". Blessings-xo Diana
ReplyDeleteRon, Love the framed crests grouping with the gray mats, and your mom's botanicals, but my faves are the Audubon prints in the master, and the bird and egg prints in The Nest. It's so nice that you have family photos displayed. I love that, and display mine at home, but rarely show them on my blog. Guess I figure no one would be interested in my family photos. LOL.. I've been watching too many "house staging" programs.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
