Uptown Sunday Brunch…Cafe Atchafalaya

J & I had a great weekend. On Sunday, we dined at a local favorite, Cafe Atchafalaya for an enjoyable Jazz Brunch.

Located on Louisiana Avenue, Cafe Atchafalaya is New Orleans only five “A” restaurant. It is the perfect choice for those wanting a memorable meal in an enchanting setting.

Cafe Atchafalaya features contemporary Creole cuisine, attentive service, and always warm hospitality.

I am a fan of the bloody mary bar and live jazz featured on Saturday and Sunday during brunch.

After a round of bloody mary’s at the bar, we were seated. Next, we ordered a round of mimosas. Cheers!

For brunch, J dined on the crabmeat omelette- lump crabmeat, spinach, cream cheese, and truffle served with hash brown potatoes.

I dined on the steak sandwich- flank steak, mixed greens, boursin cheese, roasted red pepper aioli served on a French baguette with hash brown potatoes. Delicious!

Cafe Atchafalaya does accept reservations. I highly recommend them. The restaurant is open Tuesday-Friday for lunch (11:00 AM-2:30 PM) and dinner (5:30 PM-10:00 PM). Brunch is offered on Saturday and Sunday (10:00 AM-2:30 PM).

  2. I have been wanting to try Cafe Atchafalaya. It's been on my "NOLA Brunch List" for years. They always have great reviews. The Bloody Mary Bar looks awesome. Extra hot sauce, pickled okra, and green beans for me. Heeeeeey!! Cheers!

  4. Ron, we are going there for brunch on Sunday, June 24, to celebrate our anniversary weekend! Can't wait! Thinking of the fried green tomatoes with the lump crab, but I think that crab meat omelet that J had looks divine, too--decisions, decisions! Email me and tell me what you think! :)

    1. You can always split the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and have the crabmeat omelette. I tasted it and it was delicious. Be sure to make a reservation. xo

  5. Ron, I was reading Tom Fitzmorris's newsletter today, and he listed the best 12 Shrimp and Grits dishes in the NOLA area. Guess who he listed as #1--Atchafalaya! ;)
