Sitting on my front porch, I get to gaze at some lovely Uptown homes lining Perrier Street. One of the homes that I admire the most is such a cute, modest bungalow across the street.
When I received the latest summer issue of New Orleans Homes & Lifestyles, I was so excited to see this charming abode featured in its “the best of summer” section. Yes! I knew the home was to be featured, but I was super excited to see what pictures the editors would choose. I certainly was not crazy over the cover shot choice.
The house belongs to BFFs and neighbors Chris & Shane. Built in the 1930s, the house is a California-style Craftsman bungalow. The exterior of the home is painted Exclusive Plum by Sherwin-Williams.
The interior of the home is a delightful mixture of vintage, antique, and contemporary things. Pops of color accent each and every room inside the home.
Take a look at some of the featured pictures:
I especially adore and envy the back yard of the Guidry homestead. The large livable courtyard adds plenty of square footage to the home. The shaded, bricked courtyard provides adequate space for ample entertaining. The brick fireplace is a great focal point. I too love the shed, rebuilt by the homeowner. Next to the shed is a covered “party” area complete with a tin roof.

The article concludes, “They love their Uptown neighborhood and describe their neighbors as the best.” J and I, affectionately known as the “geigh(gay)bors” could not agree more.
