For the very first time, King Cake vodka is made by Lucky Player Brands. It "captures the excitement and love of Mardi Gras. Bottled in France it features the creative artwork of Andrea Mistretta." The bottle makes it a true New Orleans Spirit. Just opening the bottle made me eager for an awesome cocktail. The smell definitely captures the true king cake aroma---vanilla cake with an almondy icing.
The King Zulu cocktail |
2 oz. Lucky Player King Cake vodka
2 oz. pineapple juice
0.5 oz. coconut oil (I used coconut extract)
0.5 oz. fresh lime juice
Ginger Ale (to taste)
Shake all together with ice and then strain into a glass rimmed with colored sugar with ice chunks. For the sugar, I made my own colored purple, green, & gold sugar with food coloring.

ReplyDeleteI guess I'm going to have buy a bottle and try your concoction. Not big on sweet drinks, but I would feel like I'm missing out, if I don't at least buy one bottle! Great blog, as usual. ;)
ReplyDeleteGinger--- I do not like sweet either that's why I added a good bit of ginger ale. It was smooth:) Cheers!!!
