It's Carnival Time {The Mantle}

As mentioned in my last post, the parlor and its mantle are two spots that guests who visit during the Carnival season see first. The mantle creates such an inviting focal point, and I always use the lower mantle to house some of my favorite finds.

This year, a glittered Muses shoe and crown container filled with king cake babies and special doubloons sit atop the pans of the vintage scale.

I adore the Jax Frey painted canvas.

Two trophy cups hold boxwood spheres and beads. Each is topped with a metal gold crown.

The reveler is made of papier mache and is a new find. J & I found it at Judy at the Rink on the corner of Washington Avenue & Pyrtania Street. I adore finding local finds by local artisans. The artist is Ann Lee Sarpy.

A purple, green, and gold garland is draped on the mantle.

At the base, my collection of Nyx purses rest in the large clam shell. If you look really close, you'll see the "tiny" glittered purse given by my BFF Nancy last year. I hear she is working on something even bigger. LOL!

I love Mardi Gras, and I love the spirit of the season.
