As with the changing seasons, the parlor mantle is never immune to getting a holiday spruce up.
This year, I went pretty simple (for the Uptown Acorn, that is) with fresh greenery from my favorite Mitch’s Flowers on Magazine Street and bows in regal stripes of gold and red.
3 oyster shell garlands were added to the greenery as well as berry clusters.
On top of the mantle, two shiny textured gold reindeer which I purchased recently at Hazelnut sit atop and aside vintage leather bound reads. In the middle, greenery and glittered pomegranates look great in the vintage English oak bowl.
At the mantle’s base, I filled the large clam shell with more glittery orbs and pomegranates. I know. I know. I still have not gold leafed the inside. I will. I promise.

Parlor Mantle, y’all!
Good morning, Ron! Oh how I love your parlor mantle no matter what season, but I particularly love it at Christmas time. You have definitely achieved a simple yet classy vignette this year. I'm "eyeing" those glittery pomegranates again this year. :) I have failed in my quest to find some :(--so watch out when I come for a drink this Christmas season since I now have a place to stay anytime I want to! Will definitely make it down to Perrier Street in the near future. Will let you know when I'm staying at our condo. Have a great day! xoxo
